Guidelines for Uploading Your House Photo
Get Started In 3 Easy Steps
1. Upload Your Photo: Choose a well-lit photo of your home and include it with your order so our digital artists can begin creating your personalized portrait. Please read our Image Guidelines for tips to make your house portrait picture perfect!
2. Personalize Your Artwork: Add a family name or personal message to make your artwork uniquely yours. We'll print this below the custom artwork in our signature font, along with your address and chosen date. You can also leave this blank for a simple and clean look.
3. Proof and Shipping: Sit back and relax while our illustrators transform your photo into a masterpiece. We will send you an artwork proof in 3 days or less to review and approve before we print and ship.
The image you upload is crucial to the quality of your final house portrait. Follow these guidelines to ensure your artwork is picture perfect:
-
Daylight Photos: Upload or take a photo of your house during daylight.
-
Quality Camera: Use a smartphone or high-quality camera.
-
Avoid Shadows: Ensure there are no large shadows on the house.
-
No Filters: Avoid using filters to ensure accurate coloring.
-
Close Garage Doors: Make sure garage doors are closed.
-
Clear Driveway: Remove any cars from the driveway or front of the house.
-
Tidy Up: Ensure the front yard is tidy.
-
Hide Trash Cans: Remove rubbish and trash cans.
-
Remove Garden Hoses: Hide any visible garden or water hoses.
-
Front-On Photos: The best photos are taken front-on to the house from the end of the driveway or street.
-
Color Photos: Unless you have ordered a sketch portrait, we cannot accept black and white or scanned photos.
-
Alternative Sources: If you cannot take a photo yourself, we accept images from real estate websites (e.g., Zillow) and Google Street View (Google Maps).
Note: Everything shown in the image you upload will be illustrated in your final house portrait. We can sometimes remove small items such as trash cans or water hoses (please mention this in the notes with your photo). Ensure your house looks the way you want it to be painted.
